Sometimes I spend so long trawling through various sites just trying to find that something new and different, it all becomes a blur! I’ve never admitted that finding a new song each day is an easy feat, so when something shines out from the masses, its nice to give it recognition..
Today’s song has an effortless, laid-back vibe that just glided in to my ears and grabbed my attention. Down By Law is a track by a band called Mr.Ray and was released earlier this year on the Chilean psych-rock label from Santiago, BYM Records. According to the press release, Mr. Ray originates from Berlin and consists of members, Jari Antti, Pablo Thiermann, Matías Santa María and Gouch (Lagunas Mentales). Their sound has been compared to that of Deerhunter, David Kilgour and Neil Young and so far they seem to have released just one single, from which today’s song is the flip-side to lead track, You Can Only Be Yourself?
