SONG OF THE DAY Nobody’s Children – Colours And Shapes

PrimaryAlthough today’s song may not be as wired and wacky as its glorious b-side, I am more than happy to be sharing it today!

Appearing on the flipside to Mother’s Tin Moustache (which you can find here on last week’s blog page), Colours And Shapes was issued on a small garage rock label from Las Vegas called Deek Records. Released in 1967, this was sadly the only 45 that Nobody’s Children ever released.

Hailing from Las Vegas, the band consisted of Joe Spitale on lead vocals, Charles Perri on drums, Jay Painter on bass, Henry (Enrique) Corro and Greg McKenzie on guitars. I’ve been unable to find out too much more about them, but what I do know is that it’s a crying shame they never issued anymore sonic delights!  Out of the two songs they recorded, the A-side is definitely the less adventurous of the two, but by no means does this make it any less pleasurable! I’m a sucker for that verse-chorus, lull-then-loud dynamic, so this is quite perfect for me all round really!! Enjoy!
