SONG OF THE DAY Orquesta Los Embajadores – Shingalin En Panama

PrimaryColourful, dramatic and a sure fire way to propel your ears to the sunshine, today’s song is a vibrant ball of Latin spice!

Shingalin En Panama is currently fetching in the realms of £300+ for an original copy and was issued on a label called Gussy. As is often the case with these little rarities, information is scant and I can’t even find a release date for this single, let alone any details on the band itself! What I do know, however, is that this band only issued a handful of singles and EP’s, of which today’s song was one!

Featuring the dazzling vocals of salsa singer Luis Argumédez Berguido (better known and credited on the record as Camilo Azuquita), Shingalin En Panama really does awaken the senses! Horns soar to the heavens, rhythm bursts from every direction and the melodic hum of those backing vocals offers up another delicious layer!! It’s a real beauty and I love the energy of this song!

Enjoy!…and if anyone knows anything about this band, please do get in touch!!
