SONG OF THE DAY VuVuVu – Supernova Express

VuVuVu are an enticing band that I have probably indulged in and enjoyed numerous times without even realising it!! This groove-laden outfit consisting of five expert musicians are the backing band for Israels own Kutiman and Sababa 5.

Hatched in their very own House of Records Studios in Tel Aviv, their hypnotic sonic concoctions are responsible for many a head-nodding instrumental and I’m very excited to share the news that their psych-tinged creations are about to be unleashed in the form of the band’s very first album!

Wonderfully described as a “unique experience in sand dune dramitica“, VuVuVu is to be the groups eponymous debut and is due for release later next month. This collection of sun-drenched psychedelia hosts seven instrumental delights and if the other five songs are anything like the title track (and today’s offering), this album will be a feast for the ears, and I for one am looking so forward to hearing more!

Supernova Express immediately hooks you in with its heady dreaminess and wraps you in its hypnotic clutches, adorning the senses with lashings of cool – you may find yourself overcome with the uncontrollable urge to dance to their rhythmic grooves! It’s got me moving!

Alongside the albums title track (which I’ve also pasted below), today’s song is now available to download – the rest of the record is due on August the 18th and if you fancy pre-ordering a copy, you can do that here. I’ve also found a live performance of Supernova Express, which you can also check out below! Enjoy!!

The Players:
Amir Sadot – Writer/Bass
Itamar Weinstein – Drums
Tomer Zuk – Clavinet
Yonatan Nahmias – Guitar
Matan Caspi – Percussion
