SONG OF THE DAY Dion – Spoonful

A very quick song before the arms of slumber come grabbing for me!!

Today’s late offering unfolds in the splendour of Dion’s version of Spoonful.  As far as cover’s go, his rendition really stands out, offering a new take on Howlin’ Wolf’s original with its folk-tinged, blues-rock sound.

Spoonful was written by Willie Dixon and first recorded by Howlin’ Wolf in 1960. Five years later US singer-songwriter, Dion released his cover of the song, issuing it as the B-side to his Kickin’ Child single! See what you think?
